Do you ZAINO? If so.....

Finally got around to trying Zaino car polish and I do have to say I'm very impressed with the product so far.

Since it was my first time using the product, I went ahead and mixed ZFX with 2 ounces of #5 and ended up using about 1.5 oz of #5 and about 1.5 oz of #2 thereafter. (Both were single coat applications with #6 spray inbetween) Also "dawned" and clay bar'd the evo before I started polishing.

Is this a normal amount to use? Too little? Too much?
I'd like to get feedback from other Evo owners due to the identical surface area that needs be covered and don't want to over use the product unnecessarily.

Thanx in advance.

Uhm...Meguires NXT comes out in February. It is a next generation polymer. It is selling for $400 aor a 16 oz bottle on ebay.

It will retail for $16 and is supposed to be a 1 up on ANYTHING out there.

I fill the little mix bottle to 1/4 ~ 1/3 full of Z5 or Z2, then mix with 3 drops of ZFX, and it's more than enough for 1 application of the whole car. You should wet the cotton applicator with Z6 or water to make the Z5/Z2 easier to spread out.

$400 on ebay as selling for $16 retail

I used Meguiars products for 13 years and I switched to Zaino this year. Meguiars will have to do a lot of convincing to get me to come back

It sounds like you are using too much. I second what ReHeat said, wet the applicator and spread it thinner. A side benefit is it will dry faster too. Zaino is so superior to anything Meguiars makes that they are in their own league.

I'm also a Zaino Bro user. Been using it for a couple of years and by far the best wax I've ever used. I used the Z1 and 2 on the initial waxing and have continued to use just the Z2 afterwards. Seems to be working just fine for me. Meguiar's does have some great products too. I use the the Quick Detailer in between waxing.

I agree about Meguiars.... I was a staunch user of their products but Zaino out "shines" (no pun intended) Megs... in the quantity you need to use and the far less amount of effort it requires to remove the polish from the cars surface. Before... I was using the 3M Hand glaze... Meg 3 Swirl remover, and then 26 yellow wax and then my puny arms were done for the after that.

Thanx for the replies guys. I appreciate it.

You need very little Zaino to polish your car. It should be a light haze (Almost too light to detect visually when wet). If you apply too much (Or as much as you would be used to with other polishes), your car will take much longer to dry and can potentially leave swirls when you remove it.

Got a question on Zaino - how often do we need to reapply?

I thought you only needed to clay bar it like once a year? More/less?
What about the rest of the process not counting the occasional gloss enhancer of course.

No, but one application on my Apex Silver was amazing. It immediatly looked so deep and rich. It felt so smooth, I couldn't help rub it everytime I got in and out. It was shiny enough to reflect my house in the paint, and that's pretty tuff for silver!
