everybody does! Its really hard to keep old cars in Singapore. the system practically forces you to change car every time it hits 10 years so we grow that much more appreciative of rare and older cars.

Its impossible to find a road registered supra here any more. Those that are not road registered were only recently imported in. The number of Evo 6 and below models can be counted with 1 hand..

great shots and good reading. It's unfortunate that the government would crack down on such modifications. Good luck out there!! I'm definitely look forward to reading more.

yes it is actually.. I really sucks to have to watch your mirrors while driving not for other cars but for the LTA enforcement officers.

We have to do that so we may be able to hopefully avoid or clutch in so that our exhausts sound "Softer". hahaha... It helps if you're rich and have a second car to drive around daily but not all of us have that luxury

Sad to hear all the hassle Singapore motorist have to face
Just because the public transport is efficient but that does not make there is a need to force everyone to hop on it and shaft people for buying car
Malaysia is much better regarding car modification($$$ will settle everything here)
But still get shafted by government in form of heavy taxes + AP

Glad to know you understand our pain... It's really not to force the public from taking public transport. the insane parking prices will get most of the people i know to take public transport to work voluntarily in congested areas. Its the modification part that is a big headache. I'll give you one funny example.

So i bought an LTA approved exhaust set second hand. Exhaust manifold, turbo outlet and downpipe. The exhaust manifold was cracked so i wanted to use back the stock manifold but just the outlet and downpipe. They told me i was not allowed to do that and i must have the full set before they will approve it...

Cars cost so much... To be honest even without the COE prices the mark up here is insane. Because the culture is such that cars are already expensive, i believe the distributors here price their cars accordingly. A range rover here would cost in excess of 330,000... I'm talking just the normal ones. Not the more expensive sport versions...

COE prices are set at something like 60,000 sgd. Its basically a piece of paper just to signify u own the car.. So add that 2 together, you have a range rover costing you about 400,000 sgd.

Well.....That is a lot more gay then Malaysia
Here with $$$ you can talk your way through as long as it is within reasonable mean(IE:No way to drop LS7 legally into Silvia/RX7 for example but well with certain identity you can get away with it)
If turbo change is not allowed then just do hybrid turbo, like they are actually going to take off your intake pipe and measure the inducer of your compressor wheel
What about a boost actuated cutout for exhaust?
Luckily Malaysia you can pretty much do anything you want as long as your pocket allow it
