Not to keep bumping this thread BUT I really want to know what that steel looking tube is running across the top of the manifold. Anyone have a definate answer?

 

looks like it might be EGT probe?

 

Na I doubt it...its got two connections to the manifold, and it routes to some sort of box thingy in the back. I would also like to know how hard it is to re-route the throttle cable. Anyone know?

I'm not sure what that pipe is but I will find out in the morning when the guys are back in the shop in the UK. That is a JDM EVO 8 that was imported into England.

 

It's the ALS as stated above, do a search, there are a few threads on it and what it does. Basically it elimintates turbo lag at the cost of severly shortening the life of your turbo. It keeps the car from entering vaccum, and can even have the car run positive boost at idle. As stated it isn't operational on production cars, and most guys remove it. It is a great thing to have for racing purposes though, just be prepared to for smokin turbos. It comes on all JDM/Euro spec cars, not on the US spec... but we have the places on our manifold to tap into.. if you really want to run it.
