Installed a VIS carbon hood a few months ago. Fitment was pretty good. I did adjust the left front fender to get the gap just right (very simple adjustment).
Was not willing to get the hood clear coated to increase the life under the sun. Figured if the hood dies under the sun it will see the dumpster.
I did use a high performance insulating coating to attempt to protect it from the UV

BTW, VIS & Siebon are not truly fully carbon hoods. The only carbon element is the show surface, the rest is a non carbon, fiber glass type.

Also, if you dont run the hood pins then its not worth installing.

Hood pins are recommended because the hood latch is attached to the fiberglass skeleton, which is much weaker than the metal backing the OEM part has. In some rare cases, the hood latch breaks from the fiberglass and the hood flies up and smashes your windshield. It's not very common at all for this to happen, but hood pins are a great insurance against it.

That happened to a friend of mine with a EG hatch back in the day....just cruising on the highway around 65-70 mph. Hood-pins are cheap insurance from having to pay your deductible for a new windshield.
