Sparco EVO racing seats AAAAA+++++

most of you know i have become a weight savings loony tune. over the winter i was looking for a set of NRG Carbon fiber racing seats. i contacted a few vendors and got some pricing and placed my order. when i ordered them i was told there in stock. once my payment went threw basically i was told i had to wait 1 month because there on back order. ''yea i know lets not get into that'' anyways i waiting the 1 month. i then got a Email saying it would be yet another month wait. at this time i was pissed off. i canceled my order because i was not waiting another month for them to tell me id be waiting yet a 3rd month.

anyways i was talking to Steve @ GetPowerHouse about some stuff and i told him about my issue. he said DUDE why the hell would you not of asked me in the first place? well i didn't know he could get seats so i never thought about it. anyways he said he could get me the NRG's but said there not really all that great. yes there 12lbs and yes there carbon but there flimsy and unsafe in a wreck. he then said if its what you want ill get it but he said to at least look else where first. so we started looking around and i found the Sparco EVO seats. i told him i had to have them in carbon fiber BUT then he told me the price. nearly 4k FOR 2 SEATS. I am not spending 4000 bucks to **** my pants after a big mac and large fri from MC Donalds. so i opted for the fiber glass versions. he gave me one hell of a price i could not refuse. yes there more then the NRG seats BUT there stronger and FIA approved. they weigh 18lbs. i can live with the 6lb jump per seat. im still dropping over 25lbs from stock after i add the seat brackets in. so i am happy with that.

here are some pics out of the box. the bad news is i can not install them yet because i need to have the side bars on my cage redone. when i had my cage built i had it built around the stock seats. i just went to test fit these and the side bars ''swing out'' are about 3 inchs to high for these seats. so i called the place who built my cage and when i get the car going ill be bringing it down to him to be redone. no big deal. i can not wait to rock around in these seats.

thanks. and for anyone interested these are the EVO 2 seats ''2012 edition'' i am 5 foot 10 inch and weigh around 195lbs. i have a 36/38 pant size and fit in these like butter. they hold you very well and are not tight. your not loose either though. there just perfect for me.

what made you pick these over racetech rt1000's or recaro pole positions or recaro spg?

they are all roughly in the same price range. just wondering because im gonna be ordering a set of buckets and debating. i've had spg's before, sat in racetechs and those are nice seats. on the smaller side. which fits me perfectly.

so from your post, these seats are for the larger people then?

i am pretty picky with looks. the one's you listed i do not like. all personal preference. plus when i had my eclipse i always wanted sparco seats.

as for sizing these are not for big people. there only a smidge bigger then the standard EVO seat. i bet i can fit in the evo seat but it would be to snug for me. the EVO 3 seat is for big people. 38+ and over 6 foot.

5'10" 36/38? Do you have legs up to your chin? lol

Seats look great, though. Curious how they would fit me. If only they were leather...

Make sure to get installed pictures!

i agree. why on earth would you want a race seat in leather. you want to be held into the seat not slide around.

The design of the seats/bolstering is what should hold you in place, not the material.

I guess if glutious grip was of much importance, your mother could sew up some velcro trousers. :-)

Most of what you said is correct. But not all of it. The EVO cloth seats hold you well. The leather seats are not as good at holding you. I have sat in both several times. as I'm sure you have too. If you cant feel a difference then your not turning hard enough. Leather does not belong on a race seat.
