so I've had it on for a few days and kind of wish I'd just spent the money on a jdm and add on diffuser. With that said, I do like more than stock because it is functional and gives the car a more aggressive rear stance. The fitment is not great, even with an autobody shop install, and the exhaust cover is a different pattern 2x2 than the diffuser 1x1 ( totally annoying for someone ocd like me). When the evo goes in for a respray in a few years I will be going jdm bumper and add on diffuser.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the exhaust cover and diffuser together because it doesn't have an asymmetric flow. I went this route because I felt the exhaust heat shield would hide or improve upon some of the diffuser gaps. I feel the diffuser would look better on darker cars like tb or gg on which the gaps would be less visible. Yellow gaps kind of stick out. but like I said earlier, I still prefer it over stock usdm.

Good thing I didn't go down this route. I'm not a fan. Just because I have a black car and wound be able to notice it very well.

if you're balling on a budget, then you're not balling

Just go JDM rear for now. Big difference from USDM in looks. You might not even want a diffuser afterwards. Good luck.

When I got mine installed we removed the heat shield since you have to do what you did and put it over the shield...plus then it was weave plus no weave (I did the fiber glass diffuser). I'm still looking for a heat shield that will work with this diffuser. Looking good otherwise though

We are possibly going to be making a new diffuser for the the evo or even possibly a universal rear diffuser.

We already have a rear diffuser for the honda S2000 that we are going to be mocking up to a evo soon!

Here is the S2000 Diffuser we currently offer.
