Darkn3s: DIY black housing Evo 8 heads

Darkn3s: DIY black housing Evo 8 heads

Hey i had a buddy that still had the ugly chrome 8 headlamps and he was in need of this DIY...ASAP! Heres my little how to that i wanted to share. I'm not the best out there at doing this but just wanted to share with the evo fam. Let me know what you think

Stockers


Baked and pulled apart


taped off sections that were to be left chrome


got the supplies ready to sand, prime and paint


lightly scuffed with 1000grit sand paper


2 coats of sandable primer


4 light coats of semi gloss black




pulled the tape off after couple hours of drying


applied the amber reflector back in


baked and sealed again




time to lightly buff the scratches on the lens






POW!

It's not a difficult task at all. Just time consuming. Patience is key.

I also painted my lights a while back too:

haha sorry was testing out my olloclip on my iphone.. guess i over did it

Nice work! I had mine done by EvoDave a LONG time ago....I've since replaced them back to new stockers and want to do this too !!!

What temp did you bake them at first and then when you sealed them back up?

220 for 10 minutes and the same to re seal
