Buffing question on my evo 9
Buffing question on my evo 9
I have an 06 Evo IX RR and I was wondering if the paint has a clearcoat or not. I've searched around and some say red and yellow don't but I need to know for sure because I am going to attempt to restore my paint on my door handles and mirrors since they are faded. Also which compounds and polish do you guys use?

My '04 RS was basically flat pink when I got it..now it looks brand new and is bright red like it should be! I almost had a stroke when I saw red paint on my polishing pad, then I researched and found out it was single stage lol. Single stage paint is actually easier to correct imho and the difference it makes is ridiculous. You won't realize how dull and oxidized your paint was until you polish it
I used meguiars m105/205 with a porter cable 7424 and lake country 3" yellow, white and blue pads. The PC is definitely worth the $100.
Little 50/50 after 1 pass of m105 on my hood...

and 50/50 on trunk after 1 pass of 105 on trunk...
and a final glimpse:
