I have a reputation for getting great deals and never paying full price. I do everything for myself and because of this, I work smarter AND harder. From electronics, to clothes, to everything else, I won't pay unless it's a good deal. My nice studio monitors that retailed for $1300 cost me $350, for example, before they were discontinued forever of course. I figured it'd be interesting to chronicle my progress with my Evo, and demonstrate that you can have a monstrous Evo without the monstrous price tag.

My Evo 8 RS? $12k, 1 owner, Rally Red, 96k miles, clean title. What came with it?

3" Greddy exhaust, 3" downpipe, Titek o2 housing, GSC S1 cams, multiple gauges, PLX SM-AFR wideband, Evo 8 10.5 turbo, Tanabe front brace, ACT XDSS clutch, XS Engineering intercooler, Evo 9 BOV, and all stock parts (I'm sure I'm forgetting SOMETHING too!)

So what have I done with it, and what have I paid?(NOTE: Not a complete list, this is just the stuff I feel that I got SWEET deals on!)

Robispec KW Race Coilovers + Tein Camber Plates - Rebuilt by Robi, $1250. MSRP? $3700+

And today, 03/22/2013? After sending in my stock Evo 9 turbo to be turned into a MAP EF2.5, I finished paying for the turbo setup + some additional goodies. Here's what I ordered:

MAP EF2.5 turbo (ported, no antisurge cover) - $884 + my initial deposit for upgrade
MAP O2 Eliminator/Recirculating Dump - $440
MAP Short Runner Tubular Manifold - $220
PLX DM-6 Multigauge $89
Omnipower 4 BAR MAP Sensor $99
some other odds and ends.

Total: $1784~

Now, here's the kicker: After I finish publishing the results for my turbo, MAP will generously return about $300 to me. I will also sell the Titek o2 housing for about $100 since I won't need it, and my old downpipe for $50-100. This means I can take about $450-500 off my total order.

So essentially, ballpark the total at roughly $1350. Not bad, right?

You sound like me. I paid $10,500 for my clean title 03 Apex Silver Evo with 150k (30k after OEM rebuild) and it came with full bolt ons including 3.5 ETS intercooler, Intake and Buschur SS Exhaust, Evo IX turbo.

I picked up 17x9 RPF1s with nearly brand new Potenza RE01r's for $800
GSC S2 cams $220

And a slew of other parts for great deals! Only difference is I plan to go EF4
