WTAC Evo's and some other stuff. Lots of pics

I was lucky enough to go to the 2013 World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) held on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th of September at Eastern Creek Motorsport Park in western Sydney, Australia. The Evo's competing did really well, winning the Pro Class, Pro AM Class and taking 2nd and 4th in the Open Class and a 3rd and 4th in the Clubsprint. An Evo also took out the Flying 500, achieving 252km/h at the end of a rolling start 500 meter drag. There was a good showing of Evo's in the Show and Shine (including mine) and unlike 2012 the weather was sunny and warm.

Some X's on display at the Show and Shine.

A whole heap of Evo's

My Evo 9 in the Show and Shine.

Zomaya's Evo looking resplendent as always.

A 1000hp drag Evo engine

How about a six rotor Mazda. Going on what Mad Mike Whiddett did with it in the Flying 500 this motor doesn't lack power

Mad Mikes drift Mazda RX-7

Why settle for a carbon splitter when you can have a whole carbon front end!

Some of the cars competing.

An NSX, which is a pretty rare car here in Australia.

More Evo's

The Nemo Evo was suffering overheating and head gasket isssues and couldn't really put on a show, still good enough for 3rd with a 1.27.7080

I have pretty limited camera gear so these action shots are not the best.

The outright winner of WTAC 2013, the Tilton Evo 9 driven by Garth Walden with a 1.24.8550.

The RE Amimeya RX-7 in 6th with a 1.29.8670.

The Pulse Racing Evo, 10th with a 1.30.8750. The black thing on the far left is a piece of the front aero that fell off a split second before the shot.

A favorite of mine, the Piazza Doro Evo driven by Nik Kalis 4th in Open, 18th overall with a 1.33.5330.

The Dominator Evo driven by Steve Glenney, 9th overall with a 1.30.3230

The end of a good days racing. Cheers

Is your wing mounted on top of that other spoiler?

its a Monster sport rear spoiler riser, the stock wing mounts on top of it.

great pics. would have loved to see more full body shots of some of those cars instead of just engine bays.

Any idea what the one piece carbon fiber front end costs? That seems like an insanely expensive "front splitter" to have to replace incase of an off/minor mishap.
