So...here is the funny part... I went on a cruise back in may, and one of our stopping points...was the Cayman Islands, and as I was driving down the road to go to see the Stringrays...I happened to look over and see this white Evo...I told my sister that I would most likely kill to be able to have that car in the US...she sez to me...well, you have a newer one...I couldnt even begin to explain the differences between EVO 5 and EVO 8 to her...lol, either way...long story short... now I find out that it is part of the forums that I enjoy perusing for hours on end...nice EVO

Beautiful V! Tell me more about that shift boot cover! I couldn't find any V shift boots when I was looking so I had one custom made out of Alcantara. That Sparco one would go good with my seats though!

Very nice, it reminds me of my 5 I had a few years ago, they are great fun.

Anyway, I know aftermarket parts in the USA are very thin on the ground for the Evo 4-6. I do a fair amount of things for them, including a rear diffuser I had designed and made here:

http://www.carbongoodies.co.uk/Evo-5...tandard-Bumper

That diffuser cannot be bought anywhere else in the world as I own the mould and if you are outside the EU then you wouldn't have to pay the VAT either.

There are loads of other things I can do as well so if you are in need of something just give me a shout.

Haha awesome, yeah I drive through the cruise port area most mornings. Sometimes I see people recognize it's an Evo and point it out or wave etc but most people don't have a clue lol

Yeah same! Couldn't find an option so just got a universal one from Amazon and had it shipped down. I like your alcantara version though, I wanted to do that originally.

I'll have a look but I don't live in the US, it's even harder to get anything in the Cayman Islands, if you want something you have to import it yourself. Shipping and import duty makes car mods super expensive lol but that's the price of "living in paradise" I suppose.

Where to start....
Been AWHILE!
(The very condensed version)

Got around to fixing my brakes...Installed a Stoptech sports kit. Rotors, pads, lines.
Brakes Soooo good now.

Slotted rotors

Changed timing belt etc and wired in an Evo8 AEM Series 2

I 'borrowed' my friends carbon wing insert (still haven't given it back, hahaha karma??) After driving around I started to hear this nasty clunk when making right hand turns. It violently pulsated through the steering wheel as well.

Turns out if you have an Evo 5/6 with the factory front LSD its common for the diff bolts to come loose and eventually get sheared off. Perfect!!

After weeks of waiting, I finally got the $12 bolts or whatever they costed back into the gearbox and was handed a nice fat bill. I need to learn how to become a mechanic very quickly.

Taunting me.

"Picked up" a set of Kelford 272 cams and supertech springs and retainers and left it to be fitted up. Removed EGR, fitted a Tial bov, spoolinUp COP, manual boost controller and replaced a bad wastegate actuator. I know there is no filter, its a pile of junk and keeps falling off, so I just leave it off. I need to relocate the battery to the trunk so I can make room for my speed density intake with filter.

Nothing seemed to be going right, after a 3rd gear pull the car shut out. Started it back up and it started misfiring. It seriously sounded like a Subaru. After some troubleshooting we opened the valve cover to find a snapped valve spring.

Kiggly Beehive springs and retainers, and gsc zero tick lifters were ordered then after more waiting, finally got those installed. Another bill again, woohoo!

All of that behind me, it was so good to drive again!

But it was too good to be true....
I'm now getting a knocking sound coming from the motor, not sure what it could be..

Trials and tribulations of Evolution owners!

Man that's a lot of bad luck! Hang in there because once everything brakes and is fixed you will have a better then new car!

Good choice on te Kiggly Beehives! I run those in my DSM and will be installing them in my Evo V too when I do the cams and timing belt.
