Hey guys I'm looking for opinons on putting carbon fiber fenders on a tarmac black Evo. The only other carbon fiber on the car is the wing and front lip. Thanks!

My buddy has carbon fenders on his black evo. I personally don't like the look.

Carbon fenders look good on every color except black. Not enough contrast. And when they turn green they look like crap. Plus carbon parts are very high maintenance.

Are you just going for a carbon fiber look or are you actually trying to make your car lighter? I have a Seibon carbon fiber hood and trunk. Not the dry ones though. Im going back to stock because I dont like that they are high maintenance and that they start to "yellow out" as the part gets older and is exposed to the sun for long periods of time. The carbon fiber parts start to look a little green after a while. I think I prefer the look of the stock hood and trunk better. From my experience with these parts, I would personally not go for the fenders. My car is Tarmac Black too.

i have aluminum fenders and see no need for CF. i, personally, can't stand how CF body panels look on these cars. it looks like you are piecing it together after an accident. on a black one.. maybe not so bad. i'm not one to buy parts unless they are actually purposeful. i think black body panels on a differently-painted car looks very ricerish. but it is your car and you get to do as you like.

Ya... It would be for looks my drivers side fender got a little dinged up. I got the quote too get it fixed and was just exploring my options for cost effectiveness. Thanks for the input everyone.

The aluminum parts are actually quite light. On the topic of maintenance, all you need to do is wax and polish the carbon or just apply a coat of automotive clear and your all set.

Didn't like CF Fenders until I saw Rickey's Evo.

I bought CF fenders because I had to replace mangled parts from hitting a tire wall and I took the opportunity to get wider ones to accomodate more rubber. If I wasn't planning on tracking it, I would have gone with stock aluminum replacement and repainted. Same goes for my hood, only in that case, it was actually cheaper to get a CF hood than it was to get a replacement aluminum hood and used ones were going for insane prices.

In both cases, I plan on painting them and clear coating any exposed carbon fiber. I am not a huge fan of giant blobs of carbon fiber patch panels.
