Evo 9 Wheel Fitment
I get it. Evo purists are gonna say stretch is a terrible thing, which in some ways it's not the best but by no means is it that unsafe.
Well, I took the Evo on the Tail of The Dragon without any issues. The car was pushed to it's limits slammed on 10.5s with 235s and I'm still alive. People tend to over-think things too much.

It's not about being an evo purist, which I'm not. It's about understanding the laws of physics, which I do. Just because you took your evo around some turns going 40 mph doesn't mean someone else might not hurt themselves listening to your advice. 235 on 10.5 is NOT a good idea.
If I can run 235s and hit speed upwards of 120+ and take corners at 40+mph and still be living to talk about it, then obviously it is not as dangerous as people think.
Check your PSI and tires before doing things like that, obviously. You can call me whatever names you like but it can be done and it has been.

I know many people stretch tires and have no problems, however , I agree with you that people don't have to take your advice, but don't flaunt something you're not an expert on, simply state your experience would be my opinion. It was OK for you, however, it may not be OK for someone else.
Its fact that a stretched tire is easier to come unseated from the bead.
Now that's cleared up, proceed at your own risk
I fixed it for ya

I agree with this. Your car, your choices. though i have seen stretched tires come off the wheel.
this was 18x9.5 with 225 section tires. Popped right off the wheel

As long as you don't go full retard like this its OK:
^ LOL There's always risk.
And @doublecup_lo (that haggered FRS) clearly did that to his car because he's desperate for attention. He's trying to sell those wheels now but they don't fit anything out there.

That guy with the FRS is super attention hungry... the most RIDICULOUS car I've ever seen. and i've seen some major ridiculous things in my time in the car community.
