Wet versus dry carbon fiber questions

Wet versus dry carbon fiber questions
Looking to buy a carbon fiber hood. Had a few questions about the different types.
Who do you think makes to best fitting/looking carbon fiber hood?
Between the glossy and matte finishes, does the matte not fade out like I have seen the gloss ones do? Do you prefer one over the other?
Lastly post up any pictures of your CF parts. Also, I am not looking into the dry carbon fiber hoods since they are more than double the price.
Let me know what you guys think.

Dry carbon is how u get carbon to be matte unless you sand the clear coat off of a glossy part (i believe STM did this to their drag evo). I have never seen a place you cna buy matte looking carbon parts if its not dry carbon.
matte is either one of 3 things. A glossy part with its clear sanded, a dry carbon part, or a fake wrapped part.

You can get seibon's standard carbon fiber hoods in either a gloss or matte finish. Then you may also buy dry carbon which is only available in a matte finish.

i picked one up last week from seibon so i'm not sure about the fading. i boxed it back up and i'm waiting for my aerocatch latches to come in. it really has that "dry carbon" look. i dig it.

I have heard from friends that have had seibon products that it is beneficial to apply another coat of clear to the part to prevent fading. I believe their clear isn't holding up to the elements hence the fading issues with their parts. I would look into this, It was a big discuss in the S2000 community a few years back.
Here are some reference links.
Clear coat it.

Loop hole to prevent complaints, copy and pasted directly from their website.
"Seibon Clear Coat Guarantee
The following situations are fully covered under the Seibon Clear Coat Guarantee:
Clear coat changes color more than a full shade within 6 months (Note: like car paint, slight fading and discoloration is natural. The warranty only covers more extreme cases.)"
Moral of the story get it clear coated to keep it looking nice!
Cheers,
CB
