New wheels

They look sweet. I was concerned about these wheels not looking agressive enough. But they look quite good indeed. Do you know if there is a more aggreesive offset to make the wheels come out just a little more to just tuck under the fender? It seems that with those wide 255's they are still kinda in there. If I use my stock tires will they sit about where the stock wheels are. That is not visibly beefy from the rear?

I am sure you could roll the fenders and fit more but how these sit currently the rear fender, if compressed enough, will hit the tire. It actually look me a good 4 hours of suspension tweaking to get em to fit withou rubbing under hard fast cornering. Anything wider is going to require fender rolling at the very least.
last thing I want to add is a how light these things are. One the same scale I weighed the following.
Stock 17x8 Enkei with used 235/45-17 = 45.3 pounds
SSR Comp 17x8.5 with brand new 255/40-17 = 40.1 pounds

I meant wider or differnt offset wheel... I will be using my stock tires and may go to a 255 in the future. So my question is on the stance/fitment of the wheels. I wonder if there is a more agressive fitment to make them stick out farther so that with a smaller tire than 255 it will still look phat and not whimpy like stock with the wheels sitting in. This is more of a wheel issue than tire? (And yes it would be great to see the lip because the comps are notorious for small lips. Even the e46 M3 which is surely a king of rear lips still has a small one with them. )
wow, with the stock tires and RRE JICs I have less than 1/4" clearance to the rear wheel fender. any more agressive an offset and what good are they? nice wheels though and light
Perhaps its just my perception with mine being stock height. With it lowered on stock wheels maybe they do sit close to the fenders. I've just seen some pics of Advan and Volk wheels on them and they look pushed right out there to the point where from behind you can see the bottom part of the tires coming out beyond the bottom of the skirt of mud flap.
Can you take a pic of the rear at ground level when you have some time?

EvoKing, i really think even with the stock tire, something like a 20 or 22mm offset is going to bump the tire into the fender. Then again I can't be sure, these have a 30mm offset and the tire sticks out a bit further then the wheel. Also by lip I didn't mean wheel lip, I meant how the tire sticks out of the bottom of the fender and just looks mean
I am well aware that getting a lip on an evo will require something like you are shooting for. You may be able to get away with the TE37's with the 22mm offset, as Changy did, as long as you run a smaller tire.(he had to roll his fenders but he is also running a 255/40-17)
nothere, a wider stance will almost always be better, the thing is, these aren't open wheel cars so the fender is always going to be a problem for those who want wide
I agree with what you said about clearence in the rear. With my stock guys on and my Zero2r's dropped much lower i had almost no room in the back.
