I have had mine on for about 4-5 years. During that time, my car was daily driven in snow and rain. As long as you keep them screwed-on tight, there aren't any issues. I do have a small 'spider web' below the driver's side rear door area on the extension, and that's with mud flaps...You can always refinish them by wet sanding, and re-applying clear coat. But they are still worth it to me...
I don't get enough snow or rain to worry about that where I live. Im just worried about rocks thrown up. But 4-5 years as a daily with no problems makes me feel alot better.
They end even with the lower wheel well edge. To play it safe, on either end (facing the tires), I put a heavy type of clear silicone on to protect the cf. Plus, as you can see, I have the mud flaps all around which help the front at least...
