I have gotten requests on where to get a good cheap camera mount to shoot video in the car for our track days.

Just get the one in the pic if you are using a small camcorder:
With the head in the pic, you can swivel it so that the suction cup can be put on the passenger side of the windshield and the camera will just clear sitting right side up. Feel free to mix n match heads though. Bigger cameras should run a second suctioncup and an arm between them with an extension.

They are cheap and helpful. You can mix and match parts to make any size mount you want and the suction cups are extremely strong with the bigger ones holding hundreds of pounds. They have been used on airplanes even!
You can mount them on the door, hood roof etc but for track events- in car only.
