I've been trying to find an answer on here and can't find what I'm looking for. I recently bought an Evo, and I was basically just wondering if taking your Evo through a basic touchless car wash would be bad( getting all of that water sprayed in your engine bay) yeah I know people drive their cars during rain/snow but just making sure it's safe. I'd wash it myself but I really want to get all that salt washed off from the underbody. Sorry if it's a stupid question, rather be safe than sorry.

 

why would it be bad?

 

A car wash isn't going to hose down the engine any more than sitting outside in the rain. Go get your car cleaned, you'll enjoy it more.

I don't see the water as the issue but when I took my evo through a Mobil car wash I came out with a bent license plate and bracket due to the robotic brushes. They didn't cover the cost to fix it. I do it by hand now.
