crappy paint
crappy paint
hello evom. so i took my kick plates off and some of my interior trim pieces out so i could run cable back to relocate my battery to the trunk and revealed a small bubble of rust exactly centered under the driver rear kick plate...those seats are never sat in and i am just really disappointed with the paint quality of the evo. and also same thing under my wing(had wing removed to redo clear coat that faded and peeled). does this happen to everyone else and what can i do about before it gets way worse? would like to not go to body shop would like a do it yourself repair if possible. thank you
Especially with paint it's hard to make a diagnosis on what's best without pictures, if you can get some up of the concerned spots. Was the car repainted by a previous owner? Based on what you're saying I'm assuming this is going to be a situation that isn't easily DIY-able. Paint repair such as re spraying sections won't generally look good or blend with the paint that's on the car, but its hard to say for sure without any pics.
it doesnt look like the car has ever been repainted before. no runs or debri in the paint anywhere. all vin tags are on all panels. orange peel and shades all seem to match to me so i dont think so. i will definitely take pics of the problem areas later today and post them up.
