Dirty Dusty rims..

Yeah, we all know the stock pads dust like crazy. My evo is just over 1month old, and I am starting to get to the point where I can no longer deal with it.
I clean my rims EVERY NIGHT.. and i'm not even hard on my brakes.
I find myself doing whatever possible to avoid braking hard, becuase i know i'm gonna leave a mess on the wheels.

I may go with the Bobcat's, still researching though.

This is my first poll posting.. if it doesn't work then .. o well.

I'm not quite cleaning them everyday, but darn close to it!! Voted every few days; but that's cuz I'm lazy after work most days, so I just leave it.

I know, I know, shame on me. :-(

The stock pads are not dusty at all, you will know what is dusty when you get some 700deg pads. My wheels are all black after 10 minutes of hard driving with the 550deg pads, and I still want to upgrade to higher ones.

Get the Project MU NS pads from Vivid Racing. There is almost no brake dust on my rims now

snoop, how is the performance on those pads? I would think that there being less dust also ment there was less 'traction'. I hate the dust but I love the brake performance. I'd be willing to try new pads but I want to be sure the performance aspect is still there.

Thanks!

yeah, i would like to know this also... if there is no sacrifice in braking performance then that would be awesome... because the dust does suck... i wash my wheels every weekend

you have got to be kidding me ! Next youre gonna complain that "the ride is too rough so i removed the sway bars" or "now i go slow around turns because the g-force is too much for me". Dude stop your whining! Oh ya I clean them once a week when i wash the car.

haha right on azanoikon..

i work full time so i'm always tired.. i could care less if my rims are always clean but i clean them once a week.

Try using some Zaino Z-6™ Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray after you clean your rims and they will stay clean longer.

Yes, cleaning the rims is a dirty nasty job but the brakes are so good I'll put up with it just as I do the super sticky tires that only go 11,000 miles at $1000 a set (on the car with old tire dump fees and such) . I use castrol ultra clean on a mircro fiber rag. makes my whole drive way so dirty I have to pressue wash it. However I knew the job was dangerous when I took it; hot cars are not low maint. items any more than hot women are. Those who play must pay.
