Road Racing Pics

We're still converting the nearly 5 hours of footage from a weekend ago. We're also waiting for the pics from the pro photographer out their to show up, but we are in 4 pics from another cars set.

I'm hoping he got some good ones of us and the 911 Turbo going at it.

Pics, 9, 15, 16.

The white NSX, white slotus, and white vette were all novice, so it was just good to see wm out learning how to drive. I don't know what it was with the white cars.. The blue ultralite and 911 Turbo both on some really wide slicks were the only two really worth going at it through the corners with. No one else had the cornering speeds we did. And the ultralite just didn't quite have enough to keep up down the straights. though it did have a 250hp s2000 motor in a 1250lb car, I guess it's gearing and peaky power left it out of it's power band in top gear..

I wish to have sexual relations with your car and dyno sheet.

I also want to order a print of your car taking that turn with the Cobra in front.

Hopefully Hart photography will have an entire set with the Evo up here soon. We're hoping he took some shots when we were coming out of a 95+mph corner 4 wide. Then the 911 Turbo got the line and those things friggin brake! I mean the stop like there is a anchor dropped out the back. So him online and with supah mo bettah braking meant we we're gonna drop back behind him a bit. But we managed to reel back in a little through the rattlesnake, but he could go way deep into corners. He just had us beat in brakes big time. Plus he was driving solo and we a double occupancy and datalogging while flogging it.

Heres a quickie. Please excuse the short shifting, we were saving the rev limiter action for the track..

That's really weird. Most of the F20C swaps I've seen took the S2000 transmission with, and the gear ratios are ideal for the motor. I suppose if the Ultralite had a 5 speed with large gear spreads, combined with the drag of an open car, it'd run into a wall over 100.

I was expecting moreup top from it, but.. I guess it most likely was aero. The Evo used to do the same until we started working on it. Keeping air under the rear parachute, err bumper, has made a huge difference from 90+mph. We're not sure if it has helped reduce lift any, but that's next. maximum cornering grip with aero help.

what does the forward side of your rear "diffuser" look like? Is it sealed all the way up to the trunk floor?

It is sloping at about a 45' angle. We are working on adding some slats to help smooth airflow their and also looking at doing a nearly full underbody flat panel we're looking at how to channel air under the motor and if it will be ok to not have much airflow from the underside cooling the tranny/xfer/diffs..

Cooling and underbody aero tend to go against each other.

you could weld on some fins to the tranny/xfer/rear to act as a heatsink and have those be exposed beyond the undertray.

We're looking at a few options, remote coolers/heat sinks, fans You wonder why real race cars cost so much.. heat and airflow management.. Doing it to a daily driver is insane.. I guess we're nutz..

What does a stock Evo run 15 mph to 110 mph in? just out of curiosity.
