It's well known on this board that Evos pick up rock chips on the fender surface behind the drivers side rear door jam and the leading edge of the rear fender well. (Search for "strange paint chips"). A common fix/preventive action for this is to realign the rear door and/or apply a strip of clearbra over the area. I did the 3M clearbra fix on my 03 before there were any real issues and just noticed that my new 04 RS has better door alignment as well as clearbra already applied there! Could other 04 owners check to see if they also have this clear film already applied there from the factory? I seriously doubt that this was a dealer-installed item. I think Mitsu really is listening in on these boards...
