removing needles on gauges...

Is this hard, and is it very easy to break or mess up the gauges? I am referring to the tach/speedo cluster. I found a place that makes replacement faces but you need to take the needles off. What do you think?

I used a 8 gauge spade connector to gently pry them up. Takes a few gentle tugs to get them to come off.

a nice thick fork will work too. if you plan on doing the gas and temp guage, be careful. you can easily F it up.

With some types of clusters you can f**k it up easy cause the pin in the centre will move and when the needle is put back on it doesn't read the correct position. The best way I have found is to remove the clear plastic cover remove the needle(s) replace the coloured face on the instrument then before you put the needles back on zero the gauges by pluging in the cluster and turning the ignition to the on position then (while still on) fit the needles, (you can turn the ignition to the off position now) remove the cluster and refit the plastic cover. As for removing the needle any of the above ways will work just dont rush it or you will f**k it up.
