Question Carbon fiber scratches?

I have just bought a used carbon fiber hood for my EVO. It has minor scratches that do not go all the way through the clear coat or resin top coat and I was wondering if the hood could be treated like a painted body panel (base caot / clear coat). I want to use a light grit compound and polishing creme but don't want to mess anything up more than it is. Any info would be nice.

Pass it? If you wetsand any surface with a clear or resin coat you will need to use compound then some kind of glaze or polish.
