To those with a sub box......

I recently installed 2 MTX subs and a kenwood 350 watt amp that I had layin around. I am using a pre-fabricated Q-logic box, and have run into a problem. Everything is installed and working properly, but I simply placed the box in the trunk facing towards the rear of the car. This is what I did in my previous car, and had no problem. However, when I boost in the evo, the trunk carpeting slides towards the rear of the car and crumples up taking the sub box with it......
Im just wondering what others have done that have a sub-box in the trunk.... I originally wanted to place some heavy duty velcro on the box, but that will do nothing since the whole piece of trunk carpeting is not attached in any way.........Thanks for any and all feedback

Get an L bracket and just screw it down in the back of the box. Get a couple of self-tapping sheet metal screws and that should do it. No need it going insane with it.

I've had the same problem. I've been meaning to custom make a box that bolts into the car somewhere to solve that problem as well as freeing up space, but my lazy'ness prevents it. So for the time being i've cut some pieces of velcro and stuck them on the bottom of the ends of the trunk carpet so that the carpet won't slide around.

I hate how much room speakers can take up..

I think I'll try the velcro approach. After work Im gonna stop by Home Depot and try and find some good industrial strength velcro.....and then place it at all four corners of the trunk carpeting. That should hold the carpeting in place, and still allow removal if I have to get to the spare......
I dont think the box willmove around on top of the trunk carpet as long as the trunk carpet is well anchored.......if it does.....I'll just have to velcro the box to the carpet as well..........Thanks for the tip.....

I just shot two pop rivets thru a picece of velcro, the carpet, and the cardboard base. Now the velcro holds the sub box and the rivets hold the carpet and velcro in one place. The rivets are under the sub box so you don't see them and the holes are small enough if you decide to take the rivets out to sell the car or something you won't see them.
