Go to http://autopia-carcare.com/inf-engine.html. It has a nice step by step type thing of how to do it.
i'm highly against wetting the engine and degreasers. I do it all by hand with damp clothes. if i use any cleaning agents or protectants, i spray on a rag first then apply. I get excellent results this way and takes about the same amount of time 30-45 min every month or so. I do mine every time i wash my car along with the inside doors, gas cap, and trunk.
I've seen to many bad things happen to imports doing that. for the peace of mind its worth doing it by hand. my .02 cents

NEVER EVER spray the engine with water!!!!
it seems ok now, but after a while the hoses will be stiffed and the oil around the turbo and the block will be dry. you will have big problems later on.
DONT DO IT. you dont wanna see what happens.
use deisel only very small amout of it and then dry it, then wipe it . or put deisel around a cloth and wipe evrything. you may laugh but ask the experts first.
Never clean your engine bay by spraying water even low pressure.
