Well I need to stay working longer then 4 days a month to build a motor hahaha. Skilled trades in Michigan are really really really slow right now. Holding on by the skin of my teeth litterly. But I'm sure as you know tax time is comming so my tax dollars will prob go twards property taxes instead of a new motor {thumbdwn}

Yeah I understand.

CurseDSM Nov 24, 2011 09:33 AM

You guys should open a shop here in Michigan being we need a good shop. The local ones out here do terrible jobs and you overcharged for shady tree mechanic quality. That way you can hire me and I don't have to be poor hahaha. And yes I have said this to all the shop guys I know hahahaha. Plenty of Ford and Chevy and Mopar but nothing good and quality for imports.

evoforstevo Nov 25, 2011 07:09 PM

Interesting build! To be honest I've never heard of you guys! But it looks like it will be a solid build and a very interesting choice of turbo! Can't wait to see this play out

Josh@MooreAutomotive Dec 4, 2011 04:25 PM

Well on Friday I finished running the cabels and installing the shifter assembley in the car, I got lucky and the swap kit I bought had a B&M Short Shifter already so I'm gonna sell the torque solutions short shifter I have. Overall the swap was real easy since there was no motor in the car lol.

Josh@MooreAutomotive Dec 5, 2011 09:53 PM

Ordered a few more parts.

DEI Titanium Turbo Blanket kit
0 gauge wire
Tsunami distribution block w/manl fuses
Aem Analog 0-60 psi boost gauge
90* fitting for the oil feed
Single gauge pod for my meth Gauge

Josh@MooreAutomotive Dec 7, 2011 10:20 PM

Heres my newest update. I ordered the Fuel Lap AFPR Kit and also a nasty mesth kit, I also installed the New AEM Analog 0-60 psi and the meth failsafe, Im doing direct port Meth 1 jet per runner at 220cc each totaling 840cc. I also ran the 0 gauge wire for power supply.

looks good man. some quality parts and it looks like its moving along very nicely. what are your expected numbers both with and w/o the meth? plan on driving it this winter or just waiting til spring?

eventually I will catch up with some of you guys, been meaning to make it out to the bbq/dyno days but work too much. in arlington/herndon quite reg, if you see a black 8 with rpf1s give a wave. cheers and gl with the completion

Josh@MooreAutomotive Dec 8, 2011 06:12 AM

Thanks, this wont be done until atleast mid winter or early fall. Im only doing meth tune as I have a mbc. I would like to see 650-700 asd be dailying the car at the same time.

Josh@MooreAutomotive Dec 10, 2011 01:59 PM

Here are soem updates.

The Turbo has been Wrapped and the Tap Work was done for the Direct Port meth setup.

I have removed the old Oil Cooler and cleaned things up a bit.

evoforstevo Dec 10, 2011 02:13 PM

So the meth has to be injected directly into the manifold?

Josh@MooreAutomotive Dec 10, 2011 02:25 PM

Yes, this allows for more even distribution of meth per cylinder as where a single nozzle before the TB will not give a even amount per cylinder.

evoforstevo Dec 10, 2011 02:34 PM

Interesting. I guess I haven't seen that before. Build looks good, you guys are very thorough

Its the same concept ad direct port Nitrous but with meth lol.

CurseDSM Dec 10, 2011 04:45 PM

Is that gonna be enough room for the meth to atomize? I know alot of kits tell you to do it right at the tb elbow or the 90 in our case, but I guess it would have to do about what size jet your planning on running. I would worry that isn't enough room for it to atomize fully.

Look up cooling mist and look at the cm5 nozzles these are the newest thing lol there's pkeant of room its right below each divider wall of the intake runner.

I'll be stopping by on Monday to have you guys take a look at my TB VIII and discuss build and tuning options with you guys.

Josh@MooreAutomotive Jan 15, 2012 06:45 PM

Well the cars running and I have put 300+ miles on it already. We had to do some troubleshooting and we figured that my QR BOV Spring is too stiff and not allowing the car to idle right at low loads. I go pig rich when I decel as my vac is between 6-7psi and so I need the Black Spring which is a 6psi which should help on decel and also with the A/F Ratios. The 5 speed swap is very nice all I can say is I am glad I did it. This turbo has been a pain to get on but so far its awsome and I love it.

I will update this thread with better pictures and Dyno results on saturday. The tuneing has been amazeing saying that this was a large turbo and Im on low boost its still making a insane amount of power as of right now.

Josh@MooreAutomotive Jan 22, 2012 09:15 AM

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...2/IMG_1395.jpg
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...2/IMG_1397.jpg

Ok one thing we forgot to swap the MAP Sensor during the 3rd run when we started to turn up the boost so the 35.25 is really 38-39 psi and the dyno reads 1 psi higer then what you run so the 42 is 41psi. the 608 run is 3rd gear the 616 is 4th and the 553 is 3rd on 32psi. We had one change and that was to a Buschur SD Catback which picked up 11 whp and 10 ft/lbs with minor af changes but at 32 psi.

Heres the S362 vs FP Black both JB Turbos.

My Build 2012

mxguy1286 Jan 22, 2012 04:45 PM

That bep .70 hot side really restricts that turbo. Get the .88 and you will really see it stretch its legs. Here is one of my dynos with that turbo https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...h-results.html

I have ran it on my talon, and a friend has one on his eclipse. Pretty much anything 600whp and above it stops flowing above 7k.

Josh@MooreAutomotive Jan 22, 2012 04:51 PM

Well first thing I need to do is port the head and larger cams.

mxguy1286 Jan 22, 2012 05:05 PM

What cams are in the car? I have had some great luck with kelford 280cams. Its a lot more work and money to port the head then to swap out the exhaust housing. I am sure you would see more gains from cams and a exhaust housing. My stock head made 720whp d.j. and holds power to 9k without dropping one bit.

GSC S2 274/274 but this is a T3 the larger housings list T4.

mxguy1286 Jan 22, 2012 05:25 PM

My bad, .85 t3 housing. Its a 6bolt outlet is the only problem so you will need to remake the o2 housing. http://www.bullseyepower.com/S300.asp And yeah some bigger cams sure would help the power!

Yeah I want to stay vband next upgrade will be a ball bearing turbo.

BravoZero Feb 4, 2012 01:04 PM

Looks like the build is coming together nicely Josh! I think the last time we met, you still had the Eclipse, lol.

I need to stop by Moore and get some quotes on work for the Ralliart, maybe I'll get a chance to see the beast if you drive it there.

USCGSAM May 21, 2012 10:26 PM

subscribed. SWEET build. can't wait to get my POS back on the dyno. i followed your recommendations and went with S2/beehives and shifted over to SD on the ECMlink and now i need tuning. that said with the way she rides now street tuning isn't an option as it was before(she is a little to quick) from a safety standpoint she is mapped for DD w/o boost. Love the S2 lope/idle :-) i'll be stopping by soon.

Josh@Spec-Ops May 22, 2012 01:25 PM
