Thumbs up New Project MU pads installed

My car has been making some horrible noises when the brakes are applied at low speeds as in stop & go traffic. They seem to work OK stopping from speed but the grinding noise at low speeds is very annoying and a little scary (what's going on there?). Anyway, following the advise of some friends I bought the Projec MU NS pads. At $155 shipped, they are a bargain. I was told they work very well and produce less dust that5 the stock pads and other replacement pads. This remains to be seen...

Last night I met with a couple of EVO friends to change the brake pads in my car.
My friends (thanks a lot Mike & Mike, hi Chuck!) jacked up the car one wheels at the time and replaced the pads for me re-using the stock shims and applying the hight temp grease between the pads and shims. The job is relatively easy and straightforward. It's easily done by anyone with a minimum of tools. You need a jack and stand to lift and support each wheel, a lug wrench, a torque wrench to remount the wheels, a hammer, a 3/32 drift pin and perhaps a flat blade screwdriver.

The end result is great . So far everything seems fine. I'm taking it easy until the pads seat on the rotors but the car stops very smoothly and quietly. I could have done the job myself if I did not have this tendinitis of my right arm . Fortunately, th e local EVO guys are good ppl and always help out. Big thanks again to you MYEVOVIII & Racer RS X I'll post my impressions of the brakes after they break-in a bit.............

LOL, yep I've had mine for a few weeks and I love them. The brakes do squeak a bit when I brake, but then again so did the stock brakes. When its time to replace them again, I will be buying the same pads

Does your pedal still feel the same? I have to step on mines alittle bit further down then normal.

I didn't bleed nor turn the rotor...

Whats the break in procedure? Mines didn't come with instructions.

At the very first, the pedal went down a lot, but right away it straightened itself out. The pedal felt completely normal. I don't have that car anymore so I can't check anything but IIRC, everything was just fine and the brakes worked a lot better after the new pads were installed.....

I put these pads on and my rotors are changing colors and have hot spots on them. The pads don't seem to grip like the stock ones. I am not happy with them at all. I did change the brake fluid too. No there isn't any air in the system because it has been bled. Guess I am the only one that has problems with these pads.

i've had them on for about 6 months. they do squeek a little.. i was really annoyed with this at first, but after trying everything.. i've learned to live with it.

they def dust less than stock.. and don't grip quite like stock imo..

overall.. i'm pretty happy with them. i will try a different brand when replacement time comes again..
