I am currently running Toyo Proxes T1-S, but with a UTQG Treadwear 280 verses the 160 rating of the factory Advans, they really do not even come close for dry handling. However, they will probably last forever.

I bought the falken ziex 512, and I couldnt be happier. They are a high performance all-season tire. The treadwear rating is 360 Traction A, Temperature A, Speed Rating W (168 mph) They have done great as a daily driver tire, there overall grip is only slightly less than the advans but there is a bit more sidewall flex, these tire rides 10 times better than the advans did. I would recomend this tire to someone who drives quite a bit and is looking for a tire that will get good mileage, ride good, and not sacrifice to much in the performance department.

When I ordered my RA-1's,I spoke to aim tire in regard to the T1-r. They said it will have the same, or similar compound as the T1-s. The difference will be in the tread pattern. A stiffer sidewall would be nice as well, no info on that yet, though .

Try these. They're really good.

Get you some michelin pilot sport ps2

or

pilot primacy

or

pilot alpin pa2.

What are you looking for? All season super street performance or summer ultra performance?

Difference in those and compromises.

also pirelli P-zero nero or Rosso is also good. For the money, I would get the Michelin. They're really completely different class of tires.

The UTQG rating does give some indications of tire wear between different tires, but using that alone does not give a good comparision. I have tracked with the Advans and Toyo T1-S. The T1-S does not have as much ultimate grip as the Advans A046, but they do stick and it breaks traction progressively. The T1-S are very predictable. After one track day at Willow Springs with the T1-S, the thread wore down a lot more than the Advans. However, there is one thing I don't like about the T1-S and that is the soft sidewall. Though the soft widewall was not as noticeable at the track.
