Rays has come out with a 2 piece version of the 57S wheel. Wheel is called the 57S-Pro. Finishes out now are gold, silver with polished lip and chrome. Sizes are 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. Haven't got any weights but they are a cast wheel. Prices are around $500 RETAIL a wheel.

I don't get it...is cast better than forged? Two-piece better than one-piece? Can someone tell me about this. Also...I've been looking for a weight spec on these gram lights (both the 57F and the 57F pro) and can't find them anywhere. Anyone got any weight specs on these? Thanks.

forged is stronger than cast rims...less tolerate to stress when thrown around a racetrack, etc. Typically they are lighter as well.

I cant really answer the 1 peice vs 2 peice question...I have no clue myself.

There are 2 different schools of thought on the forged/cast debate. Since cast is less dense, it should be lighter right? Well, wrong. It takes more metal to garner the same strength.

However, there are many new and emerging casting techniques that allow for a lighter wheel with more strength. I want to call it "high pressure casting", but I can't remember. This casting process is used by companies like Rays, and Yokohama/Advan.

Personally, I will stick to forged. If it ain't broke________!

the 57F's are pretty much the same look as the 57C's (the ones everyone and their mothers have). The spoke design is ever so slightly different, but it is forged and much lighter.
