How often do you get an alignment done?

Just wondering how often everyone is getting their cars aligned. I bought a lifetime alignment for the car from one shop and I can go in anytime and get the car aligned. Helps saves on these wide tires.

if your within spec u really shouldnt have to get it done more then one time... unless u hit a big pot hole or something and think it threw it off or if you just droped the car etc which would be your camber...

As our cars get older, parts wear and suspension points move around slightly. This will be enough to affect your alignment. I'm not sure how often EVOs need to get aligned. I would it would depend on how hard you drive your car. How much was the lifetime alignment? It would be worth it if you race and go through tires a lot.

I got mine aligned 3 times this year. Once at the beginning of the year (Tanabe springs), once for more rear camber, and once for the new JIC's. I want to get it done again soon to re-check front toe, so i don't tear up the winter tires too much. I will also get it done again before the first track day of '05.

If you're making a lot of adjustments (tracking the car), then it's a really difficult question to respond to. If you're just driving around town pretty easy-like, not often. I think that in the last 15 years, I've HAD to get 1 alignment...something like that. Probably had 3 alignments in that time, but a couple were just kinda piece of mind. Evo is about a year old, no need yet and I run 2 sets of wheels/tires on it.

Well our roads around here aren't the best and my advans had been rotated twice and when I switched tires (8,500miles) the front tires were really worn on the inside. The alignment was pretty bad. I don't recall hitting any bad pot holes. The lifetime alignment on the car was $135. I think it is well worth it and I would like to keep my new set of tires as long as possible. You can never over rotate your tires to much or get your car aligned. I think the more it is done the longer they will last, but that is just my .02. By the way I got lifetime balance and rotation on the tires as well (Bridgestone Potenza's).

$135 does seem like a good deal for lifetime alignments...

I get mine checked every time I get my tires rotated.

YOu should get an alignment done about every 30k miles or so, unless of course your tires are wearing uneven or the steering wheel is off center or pulling, in these cases you need to get a 4 wheel alignment asap. You also need to check the play in the front end occasionally as worn or defective tie-rod ends, ball joints, steering racks will throw the alignment off.

I get mine done once a year. Or if I really think i messed up the suspension if I hit something.

Steering wheel off center

Pulls to one side

Or abnormal tire wear.

When ever I the car feels like it needs it I have it checked. So far that was just once. It depends on how hard you drive it and what the surface you drive on is like. I hit something pretty hard but nothing was out of sorts. The frame, suspension, hubs and steering gear on these cars are quite solid.

my evo's alignment was screwed from the get go. i just noticed the insides of my advans are worn bald. 10k, and i ordered tires last week, and will get springs put on, and then have it aligned. anytime you change suspesion parts, it is a good idea, and if you ever hit a curb, or a bump you think couldve screwed the alignment up. hell if it is free for life i would have it in there every few months.
