Red face

there are the 8 piston curved titanium calipers that brembo sells but you need to sell your house to be able to afford them. i say go with a 6 piston up front, & move the 4 piston to the rears...

I always find it funny when people don't understand that bigger brakes don't necessarily mean more stopping power. Bigger brakes = more resistance to fade.

only true if you don't upgrade all the addl parts such as master cylinder, rotors, fluid, stainless, lines, etc...

Speaking of calipers, the clear coat on mine is starting to peal pretty bad. I would like to find out if the gold calipers from the STI would bolt up.

I was simplifying, the MOST you can expect is less fade, not more stopping power overall. The main thing that affects absolute stopping power is tires. Most braking systems are capable of locking up the tires when they are not overheated.

I dont think they would fit but why try to degrade your Evo with Subawho parts on it.

Nope they won't fit. EVO's are larger.

It doesn't matter..the seatbelt statement was meant to be funny and it was!

The stock calipers with Hawk or Ferodo pads are PLENTY adequate for a street driven Evo. If you just want silver calipers, paint them (no spraypaint!), strip and polish them (they ARE aluminum..) or...if your calipers are in perfect condition and the clearcoat isn't peeling off...I will polish or paint my calipers and we can trade! The clearcoat peeled off of mine so I am going to polish them (Satin finish...not blingbling)

Its not the stopping power. Im happy with them performance wise. I just ordered ds2500's btw.. Its just that my clearcoat is pealing pretty bad ,so I was looking at some replacement options. I was thinking of stripping and polishing them, but am a little concerned about discoloration due to the heat. I dunno, I may just leave it if I cant figure out something cheap. Looks like crap though.
