Brake warning light
Usually in the morning, when i begin driving (of course with the e-brake handle down), and when I press the brake pedal while slowing, the red Brake Warning Light would go on. Is that a sign of my brake pads wearing out? Any comments? Any experience to share? Thanks.
big thread on this 99% sure pads are going out someone said something about fluid but then someones said dont put fluid in its a close system and u will overflow it..... so i think its the pads...

'03 Evos do NOT have wear indicator sensors. My brake light was coming on while braking and I whipped out the owner's manual to see what that could indicate. The brake light does not come on for brake wear....you probably have low fluid! Go check your fluid level and bring it up to the level "mark" if you are low. Solved my problem

If the fluid is low, it is low because the fluid is pushing the pads out...aka the pads are low...unless there wasn't enough fluid in there to begin with, but being below the line with brake fluid means that somewhere the pads are low...
Edit: At least, this was the case with mine, my front pads were pretty dang low, and my fluid was low, maybe it was just coincidence, but replacing the pads fixed the problem

On one of the front pads there is a metal bracket. If that bracket ever touches the rotor, it grounds out the circuit and thus turns on the brake light. If this happens, the light will be on all the time, never go off unless you brake the circuit.

Quick question, how complicated is it to replace the pads ourselves. seeing that it's BREMBO BRAKES and all. Are the Pads hard to get if we can replace them ourselves. I do have a lot of experience with replacing Brake pads on my own car ACURA INTEGRA 98.....is it much more complicated and has anyone replace the BREMBO PADS by themselves if so any advice and helpful hints???? THANKS IN ADVANCE

The Brembo's are easy to change, it may be the easiest to change of any car I have ever done, however it is the most expensive to change!
