Personally, when I had my custom rotors designed, I specifically did NOT want true floating rotors. They are just too noisy and high-maintenance for a street driven car. (Even though I'm a track junkie and do probably one event every week or two over the summer months, my car still sees 90% of it's use on the street!)
For my use, fixed 2-piece rotors are the perfect option. You get some of the major benefits of a 2-piece design (light weight, less heat transfer to hubs/wheel bearings, and lower rotor replacement cost) without the compromises of a floating design on the street.

Once you've invested in the aluminum hat and mounting hardware, you can just buy the rotors themselves. Replacement cost should run around $200 a pair. In the long-term, you end up saving A LOT of money.
