General question about Tein S-Tech Springs

I searched, and found a little info, but not everything that I was looking for. Basically, I'd like to know if these are a good buy, if they give a noticeable handling upgrade over stock, and if I were to get these if I would lose winter driveability (because of the lowering). Also, any problems with the lowering and running an 18" rim, or what the tire restrictions are with that size rim and the drop. Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm slowly learning...bit by bit...

You guys are great,

Thanks

Tyler

IMHO, these are not a good buy. They worsen the handling of your car by lowering the front way too much and throwing weight dist off even more than it already is. Also, by having the front so low, you find out just how many things an Evo nose can bump into. These springs are purely for looks, which is subjective.

Yeah, I think I'll just stick with the stock setup...maybe I'll get coilovers down the line.

s-techs have the sickest drop of all springs. Get an alignment and the handling is fine. I drove everyday during the Chicago winter season. No Problems.

Sick like makes your handling sick. They throw the already bad F/R dist to extremely bad. They are purely for looks, IF you like the ghetto look.

everything i've read about the stechs indicate that they are for aesthetics only. remember the "s" of stech stands for "style" not performance. they will not optimize the stock struts. the only springs that will do that are the stockers. i found a decent compromise in the hotchkis springs, but they also lower the car a good amount, so keep that in mind if you consider them as an option.
