What off set etc. needed for wheels on Evo 8

Hi guys can anyone tell me what offset and spacing I need for wheels on my Evo 8.
I know a guy whos selling some TE37's cheap and although they are only 17's I love those wheels in white to bits, so I'm considering it.
They are:
volkracing te37 style mags,17x7.5,5x114.3,offset 24,white,in mint con

Will these fit an Evo 8?

most likely not, unless you do some fender pulling. 30 is about the max offset a normal evo will take

So an offset of 24 would mean the wheel mounting surface is closer to the center line of the mounting surface than an offset of 30 for a set wheel width right?
Ok so I see what you are saying Alex. Would there be any problems with the wheel clearing the brakes?
Would that lug pattern fit though?
Out of interest whats the offset of the stock wheels?

Isnt an offset of 24 smaller than an offset of 30.. if 30 is the max it could take, wouldnt 24 definately work?

EDIT: Sorry, I'm a big newb on tires/wheels

The higher the offset numbers, the closer the hub will sit against the wheels.

+24 offset means the wheels will sit further away from the hub, which brings the wheel outward.

The smaller the offset number is the more the rim will stick out from the body of the car. I have a 18x8.5 wheel with a 15 offset and stock suspension. I had a lil rubbing issue in the rear when i hit a big bump or with people in the car but the trusty hack saw fixed that LOL. Now its all good but i wont be able to drop the car. I would say a 25-30 offset would sit very nice and you shouldent have any rubbing problems and still be able to drop the car if wanted. Anything bigger than 28 will never have a rubbing issue.

Check out my ride in the registry i have a nice pic of my offset.
