To Volk or not to Volk, that is the question.

Come the time when I get my EVO I was looking to have the mods that I wanted, on the car that I wanted, sacraficing to have them. I know the feeling I get when I see a car with Volks, they look beautiful but most of all it makes a statement that someone knows what there doing to put those on, even if the car has nothing else. I was looking at some LE37, CE28n or TE37's for the car, probobly an EVO RS but are they really worth it? I just don't want to have some no name rims or are the no names really just as good for half the price. I would like a list of the top names but not spending the most in the world. I think I will hold out and find a nice clean set of used Volks with tires. Gotta love Rays but what do you guys think? Waste of money?

If you have to ask if its worth the money. Then you can't afford then to begin with.
Hands down, Rays makes the best looking and engineered rims out there IMO.

I had Volk's and now I have 5Zigen huge downgrade imo, but I'm happy. Volk's are pricy becasue of the design and name. I wanted a rim that would not make me cry if I was to run into a curb.

Any strong rim that is as light as Volks, will be 90% the performance in my eye. But then again im a total nub. The volks will give you tons of show, and tons of attention. Then again you could spend the grand you saved on a few toys for your engine and then just be more of a sleeper then a shower.

Just my .2

Just a testimony, I had a chance to pick up a volk ce28n in a 18x8.5 in bronze and man I was shocked as I could lift it with ease and one arm. I am not kidding you when I say they are super light to the touch. I say go with the volks and you will be happy.

It depends what you use the car for. Volks are definitely nice. I had some white te37s on my old car. But if I had to do over, I wouldn't have bought them. They were pricey (over 2k) and I was constantly paranoid about them getting scratched up, curb rash, etc. Even just taking them in to get tires put on, you end up having to hope whoever is putting them on is gentle with them and doesn't scrape them up. (which around here is damn near impossible). The whites were also a huge pain to keep clean but that is another issue entirely.

depends on money and what you want from the car usually people i have seen get the evo RS track it and for a track u probly would want something really light and wide but not have to worry about it.. due to 95% of the time u will scrape it or touch it on something.... i personally wont go with them becuase of the 1K-2K you can save and i dont want a show car.... i would rather have that money into the engine its all personal prefrence and what you want the car for
