If the rotors distort when heated, turning them down (cutting them) will not help. Machined cast iron often contains stresses in the metal. These stresses can cause distortion and/or warpage. I chuck them up in a Lath then measure run out with a dial indicator but if you are careful, you can measure with a carpenter square and a set of feeler gauges. If you have any questions about how to perform this simple operation just PM me.

mine just started to warp after 28k...

same symptons...at like 60mph braking, the wheel shakes...it's not alignment b/c I just put new tires on with an alignment check.

I just ordered new pads and slotted rotors made by Stoptech. It was relatively cheap compared to Brembo, Endless, Project Mu. I should have ordered the Ferodo DS2500...i guess it's still not too late. I'm putting it on this weekend.

If you're looking to save money, try RotorPros...they are really inexpensive, and from what my friend said they are as high quality as StopTech and Brembo.

As for Slotted vs Drilled...
Drilled can crack under track pressure and heated stress from repeated and long-term braking. The only reason people buy drilled is for the looks.

Slotted is very good, it won't crack and performs the same function as drilled.

I saw a thread on here a while ago some vendor had Performance friction 2 piece slotted rotors that looked very nice.

I've resurfaced my rotors 3 times and the vibrations in the steering wheel (when braking) still came back. After i changed the pads to ferodo 2500's I've never had anymore problems. I have 75K on her.

my steering wheel started to vibrate when i hit the brakes after only 5000 miles. so i put ferrodo ds2500's on and the vibration went away after i bedded them in. i highly recommend these brake pads. they stop better then the stock pads but are a bit noisy if you aren't romping on them. how you experienced the same thing with these pads HwangTKD.
