Which model Advans do we have? Does anyone know what the treadwear rating on the tire is? What makes that tire so hardcore?

Ok got the A406 as the model and the treadweat at 160AA.
But what makes that tire so badazz........................?

 

Also what is a comparable tire??? Sorry I am sure this has been beat to death.

 

I don't think there's a tire that's comparable in every respect to the Advan. There will always be tradeoffs. Check out some posts on the new Advan Neovas. Those seem to have some very good feed back but are as expensive as the Advans.

Not sure about the compound but these are pretty hard core tires and from what i've heard from people who track their cars they say the OEM tires are very close to being a DOT legal R compound tire.

If you like the way the advans feel ie turn-in response, ride quality, grip, etc than just stick with the AO46 (OEM Tires). If you plan on upgrading to 18inch rims or want a wider tire than you have a few options. I think ppl like the BF KDs, Neovas, etc. Definitely do some search.
