toe in on front tires ok?

toe in on front tires ok?

When I took my car in for alignment the shop made my front toe in a bit, not exactly sure how much but is it ok for street driving?

It all depends on how far it is in. If its very much, it will wear your tires fast.

besides the toe in amount, for street driving are they suppose to toe in or out?

typically for street driving a little toe in is good because it slows the steering response down enough to keep the casual driver out of trouble.

I though most evos run 1/8 or 1/16 toe out in front....

Toe in the front of a car will help to balance a car. Toe out in the front will help with a car that pushes, and toe in will help with a car that oversteers. Given that the EVO tends to push most run the car with a slight amount of toe out.

Other effects of toe:

Toe in will make the car more stable in a straight line, and will be easier to drive as the car will not hunt. Toe out is jsut eh opposite as you can imagine.

Tire wear will oviously be effected with a lot of toe in or toe out.

I always get my toe set to zero in the front. Best setting for our $1,000 set of tires.

1mm toe-out for me all around. I always drive with both hands and pay attention so it's fine for me.
