its the one thats inbetween the coils of the springs right? yeah that thing is useless. its put there from the factory so that when they transport the car, the car moves less on the bed so less possible damage to the car.

are you serious, i thought that was put there to keep the shock from bottoming out
its on the actual shock (shaft) inside of the coils i think its under the dust boot
i see some springs come with new shorter ones

DON'T throw it away, just cut it in half and you'll be fine.

Ummm... dont throw that **** away.. u need it other wise ur shocks are gonna eat it. It stops the travel of the shock. Every spring is different i have no idea how much u have to cut it but keep it.

When I put my tein S springs on last month it had instructions to cut the lower half off, the end closest to the ground. Don't listen to people telling you to throw it away. The springs will eventually kill your factory shocks but getting rid of the bump stop will just do it sooner.

When we installed my Hotchkis springs, we used the bump stops it came with and no cutting was done. I think that one guy was thinking something else and not really knowing what you meant. You want to keep the rubber bumpstops on your struts for the springs.

i think you would be fine cutting off about 3/4"....these springs don't drop as much as the stechs.....I didn't cut my bumpstops. I drive hard on the street, and can't imagine i have hit the stops yet.
