coilover issue

so im deciding to go with some coilovers..but i cannot decide which one would suit me the best..my car is daily driven and i take it to the strip and willow springs here and there..maybe 3 times each throughout the year.what tein kit would best suit me..flex?..basic?..or ss??

i was also recomended k-sport coilovers?..does anyone know the quality of these coilovers opposed to the tein set-up?

Cusco Zero 2r's are a very good unit. A customer of ours had them on his evo before he traded them and daily driving was not an issue.

Chris has them on his wrx and there are no issues with them what so ever. Great unit.

Both Cusco Zero 2R and Zeal are very nice units. I personally went with Zeal because I had more personal experience with them as I had a set on my previous car. Our custom spring rate 12/10kg allow my car to perform really well on the track while still able to use it daily.

I had HKS Hipermax II before the Zeal on my Evo. It rode really nice on the street but it wasn't nearly stiff enough for the track. If you were to take your car to the track, I would highly recommend you to go with an inverted strut with monotube design.

Thanks,
Tom

Yeah Tom both of them are very great units. Zeal has slightly better valving but either way you can't go wrong IMO. HKS hipermax though are not as user friendly as the V6's or the Zero 2R's.

But i know when i get my coilovers in the winter i will be getting zeals. Weather they are v6's or the x i'm not too sure.

i had zero 2r's on my impreza. the lancer will get zeal v6.

cant go wrong with either one. on both sides of the awd house seems like zeal keeps getting the raves. the fact they can be rebuilt in the USA has an edge over cusco.

dms 50$mm sound like a killer c/o as well.

I have the flexs, and they are currently setup 12k / 10k, same as the Zeal. I ordered two new front springs for my set (180bucks), and then recornerweighted. The 10k/10k setup they come with factory feels fine, but as other have mentioned, you need a bit stiffer spring for the track.

The Tein springs can hold +/-2k on the dampeners with no issue, so you don't need to revavle for the 12k springs.

Again, if you plan on even light track duty, get either the Zeal or the Flex at a minimum, you can't real go wrong with either. Great units, and hold up to daily driving, if you have to do so.

I got the Cusco Zero2R and I like them a lot. I have it on th softest setting which is a bit stiffer than the stocks but absorbs bumps much better and the car has much less body roll when you make hard turns. Gonna make it stiffer for street use in a few weeks.

Ashumo yeah the advantage is the rebuild is in the US at Auto R&D aka endless usa. We deal with them often they are great people.

There is a company near you, that specializes in EVO suspension systems. They have a lot of experience setting-up these cars for SoCal road conditions, WSIR, Streets, and LACR. I would recommend that you give them a call or drop them an email.

What is your price range...I think that will help make you discisoin. If you are willing to spend $2500 then I would say go with Zeal or Ohlins. $2000 Muellerized Buddy Clubs. Less than that and you get into a lot of options...
