Which tires...???

Hey guys, I want to upgrade the tires on my Evo...I decided that I am going to paint the stockies flat black, and since I live in NY, I wanted to use the stock Advan's as the winter tires and use a different tire during the spring and summer months. Anyways I htought someone with more experience could help me out and suggest a tire for me. Right now I was looking at the Kuhmo MX's but I dk if I should go a lil wider and get a 245/40/17 tire or stay with the stock size...I have Tein S-Tech's so I d k if I am going to rub with 245's?? Does anyone know?? thanks alot in advance
Bobby

wait huh? use the advans during the winter in ny??? and get MX's for the summer??? ok that makes no sense...the MX's are nice tires, but like the advans are NOT good in the snow... in fact, they should be made illegal to use in low temperatures... I have MX's on an eclipse and the Advans on my evo and neither is suitable for winter use by ANY means... get all seasons for the winter and then dedicated sports tires like the MX or the Advans or KD's or something for the rest of the year. If you use the Advans in the snow, you might as well go kiss a tree right now.

Ok. a few things.. The stock advans are better then most aftermarket tires in a lot of ways..

Using the advans in the winter is a BAD idea.

I have tien s-tech and am running 245 Falken RT-615s... I am very happy with these so far and would recommend them.

Good luck with the stockers for the winter. If we have a winter that's anything like last year your going to have a hard time getting around. I tried to get away with ussing the advans last winter and let's just say it wasn't fun. I'll be ordering some winter tires soon, what's the point of awd if you can't get any grip because of the tires.
