Quick winter tire question

Today we got the first snow of the year and i still dont have winter tires, needles to say, it was my wake up call. My question is, when i called my local tire provider they were all out of 235 series tires, so instead i went with a 225. Is this going to be okay, did i make any mistake by doing this? Also i went with Dunlop winter sport M3's, how do these compare to say anything in the blizzak lineup?

Skinnier is always better. Your speedo will be off, actual mph will be less than what it is telling you.

The Wintersports work great. I've driven in deep snow with no issues.
