I used those contis on a RWD that normally had terrible traction in the winter...or anytime for that matter. Contis were a vast improvement and relatively cheap.

I've never had problems with my contis. Although, discount tire usually has them backordered around this time of year (atleast they did last year) Better decide quick.

I run the Continental's on my car and my girl's Benz . . . they're absolutely great tires. They'll give you great traction in wet/dry/snow, have a pretty stiff sidewall, and have a treadwear rating of 440. On top of that they're pretty cheap. Definately the way to go.

i have the pirelli's and they work just fine in the chicago snow, they also have decent dry warm weather traction too. I left mine on all year.

dood,

I just bought the Pirelli's about 1000 miles ago and man do I love them. They are a great "all-seaon" tire and I do stress "all-season". They will flex more than the stock advans and do not hang as well in turns, but they come pretty close!

They are really quiet too, waaaay quiter than the Advans. The side wall is not as stiff as the Advans so there is a bit more of a comfortable ride. I just drove them in an inch of snow and they are awesome. For $130/tire, you cant beat them.

The continental are more of a winter tire, whereas the Pirelli's are more spring/summer but they still do well in light snow. I live in ohio and the Pirelli's are awesome.

I have a set of p-zero nero m+s on my jetta and they are great. Snow traction is okay, but they do extremely well in warmer weather. If you are really concerned with snow and ice then you should go with winter tires instead.
