Shaky steering wheel

Hey guys,

I've recently noticed that when im going over 60mph on the highway i get a shaky steering wheel. Im not sure if it has to do with the breaks, or wheel balance? I get no shake at all untill I break(traviling more than 60, and some times while in a turn and i break I get litle to no shake of the steering wheel. I have springs and wheels

Any one have any ideas!!

THA

I did. Twice, went back 2 weeks later...everything was all good ..but I did have the break pads replaced on the front, when I took it in for squeaky breaks.( I now learn to live with the breaks as its normal. but its been about 500miles since the break change but lately its been real shaky.... Ill get them rebalanced.

reason im leaning more towards the breaks, is because the wheel only shakes while im on the breaks. It's smooth as a baby's butt other wise.

If they only shake when you brake then it might be the rotors. Just as a reference my brother had the same problem and they kept on telling him that everything looked good and that they didn't know what it was. Well guess what, after the 4th time they rebalanced the wheels and everything was fixed.

Get better centering rings (aka hubcentric rings). I replaced mine with some that fit better and the vibration went away. I had the aluminum ones but highly rec the composite ones now.

It sounds like your rotors are warped. I had the same problem at 3500 miles and the dealer replaced them under warranty.

It's not "breaks", it's "brakes" and yes, it's probably the rotors as everybody else says. You probably have warped them somehow (probably by applying the parking brake while they were hot..) and they need replacing or resurfacing if possible....

I've got the same problem, I think it's alignment since I went off-roading like crazy.

It's not 50/50, it's English and those things that stop the car are definitely called brakes
