SSR Wheel fitment

Hi All,
I posted earlier that SSR wheels in
17 x 8 +38mm offset would fit the US Evo. To fit these wheels requires a 5mm spacer in front to clear the brakes. Don't want to mislead anyone.
Cheers,

Hi Claudius,
Yes, the spokes are the problem.

I posted this elsewhere, but then found this thread and thought it was a more appropriate spot for it. Anyway...

wtz, you said that your wheels were 38mm offset. Well, I was looking at the specs for this wheel, and from what I can tell, they don't come in 38mm offset, the closest offsets they have are 35 & 40 (see http://www.speedstar.co.jp/collection/type_c/spec.html and/or http://www.wheelspecs.com/specs/wheelmodels/377 ). If yours actually have a 40mm offset, then it would be less of a surprise that you had problems. I assume then that the 35mm version would work fine w/o spacers...

thoughts?

Hi JW,
I too have looked at SSR's main site. If you look a little closer, you will see that certain sizes are not available for export. My wheels came from Tirerack and are stamped ET-38. I have enquired about this wheel with a lower offset number and was told it is unavailable. Still, even with spacers it is a good track wheel bargain at 360.00 per in 17x8. Of course, you also have to run longer wheel studs and different nuts but on a track car you would do that anyway.
Cheers,

I can get you those SSR wheels from Japan at the same price as the tire rack. Don't let someone talk you into running spacers when there tons of wheels that fit perfectly. Tire rack only carries certain SSR wheels. Probably only certain offsets too. Also notice what SSR says to run on your EVO 17x8.5 +30MM .
