Good set of springs?

I am looking to get a good set of springs, mainly because I want to lower the car a little. They look better when you drop them down a bit. Just looking for any recomendations for a good set of springs. Quality of the product is more important than the price. I was looking a springs by RS-R.

Tein springs are relatively cheap if you look around and still provide a good ride

IX MR Options

What about springs for a IX MR? I would like to set the car up for occassional track events and lower the car a bit (looks like a 4x4 )....

I had the Tein S-techs, but gave them away as they supposedly are bad on the struts, and can even break them. be careful when changing the stock suspension/steering geometry. good luck. check into coilovers also. thats what I did.

tanabe gf210. Stiffer than stock which is good on the stock shocks. Drop is not drastic also, only 1.5" front 1" rear.

I ran the Tanabes on my VIII also. They have a good feel. Like evo_rc said, they're a bit stiffer than stock, but not harshly stiff. They don't overlower the car … it's a nice even drop. I picked mine up for around $180. This is what it looked like:

You're welcome, but the Tanabe suggestion was only for the GSR.

I'm new to the MR game and don't really know much about what springs people are running with those. I'm planning on going with coilovers on my MR.

I have the hotchkis springs on my evo and I love them. The drop is nice and even and the ride is not harsh at all.

From what I heard, coilovers are bad. any idea why. I've been suggested to lower my car, but I say no to it cuz I'm afraid I might loose the stock feel. and plus any lower my front end would be kissing the curb everytime. I'm not the type to take my time going over the curb or speed bump I been telling them, that did you know that it's a rally car? But I wanted to drop it an inch or so. So is Eibach springs any good?

Whoever told you coilovers are bad, gave you MIS-information! If they are bad, do you think all the roadracers would be using lowering springs? or springs and struts? they are great for your car. look at the Tanabes! And whomever told you this, I wish you would start a thread and explain this, with your solidly backed research, and data to back that up!

The reason why they said it was bad is because it's too bumpy for the ride and hard. It's not so good for the road, or so they said. I'll try to get more out of the sob as to why it is so bad.
