Cutting Springs....

No i'm not going to cut my springs to were the car, i have a set of Tanabe springs and i don't want to mess with the spring compressors to get the stock ones off.

I can just cut off the stock springs with a torch right?

go to autozone, rent some spring compressors and make your work easier. I understand what your saying, it just sounds like it would require extra work....

torching springs while mounted on the shock sounds like your training for the Darwin Awards. Dont do it, do it right and rent the tool.

it can be done without a spring compressor if you have a impact gun....just make sure you have another buddy to step on the strut so it doesn't fly anywhere.....and make sure you look away while you're unbolting it & make sure nothings in front...it's dangerous, but it can be done...

I have a set of spring compressors, it's a hassel to compress the springs to the point where there is no tension left on the hat.

If i was to torch on of the coils in half it would eliminate the tension automatically.

be careful, if you plan on doing so! It may snap under the load (remember the spring is being compressed already) and put a nice hole in you face, not worth the hazzards when you can just "rent" a set of spring compressors from autozone and do the job much safer and quicker.
