MR BBS wheels

i bought an 05 MR in feb. and just recently had some all-season tires put on for winter and now i notice a vibration when the tires are cold(harder rubber than advans), so i take it to the tire shop and get the balance checked, fine. then they show me on the balancer that 2 of my wheels had excessive lateral runout, i.e. they weren't round! WTF! i pay $36,000 for a car with egg shaped $800 a piece wheels! it's obvious the wheels weren't abused or dented or anything and even the tire place said that looked like a defect from manufacturing. my question is do you think mitsu would give me 2 new ones under my 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty or not?

Excessive lateral run out doesnt just happen. If it wasnt there before then the wheel wasnt coned right on the balancer. That or the winter tires have road force issues. I am imagining that if they could tell you this it was on a Hunter 9700 balancer? Have em cone it right, then road force it in front of you. I bet a 6 pack that their "excessive runout" will disappear when they either do it right or match mount the tire to the wheel.

I have done this for 6 years, so I have a good feel for tire/wheel problems.

The shop could have bent the wheel when dismounting and mounting.

I get that vibration when the car sits for a while.. Kind of like flat spots on the tires. I drive the car for a few miles and they go away. I don't think they like the cold floor of the garage. I need to give the car a blankey.
